Europartners Retreat

27-30 October 2022 – Palac Mala Wies, Warsaw, Poland

As we live in a fast changing, uncertain and complex world, being busy working and doing business all the time, it becomes more and more important to secure our relationship with Christ. As well as how to become capable and confident in our ability to hear his voice for our life. This will help us to follow, and live by our calling and to be courageous in living out our faith in the marketplace and public square. Are we ready to be in business with God?

During this retreat we will have time for worship, teaching, reflection, and conversation as we journey, asking our Lord to refresh us and recommission us to take hold of all that he has called us to do.

Sit, Walk, Stand.

In his book “Hearing God”, Dallas Willard asks some soul-searching questions without accusation or judgement:

“Are we ready to be in business with God? What am I doing in life and business that would make speaking to me a reasonable thing for God to do? Are we in business together? Or am I in business just for myself, trying to “use a little God” to advance my projects?”

Through reflection on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians and the Book of Psalms, we will explore these questions that Dallas Willard poses. The title “Sit, Walk, Stand” we have chosen draws its inspiration from the classic book by the Chinese Bible teacher Watchman Nee.

Sit is about our position in Christ, the spiritual blessings, and our identity.

Walk is about our life in the world. How do we live and do business, as entrepreneurs and business leaders?

Stand is about our attitude to the enemy. What is the spiritual reality beyond our temptations, challenges, and opportunities, and how to cope with them?

The Four-star hotel Pałac Mała Wieś consists of several buldings independent of each other. In the historical part – Palace and Outbuldings – there are apartments furnished above standard.
Rooms in contemporary buildings – Granary and Gardener’s Hause – should be satisfying with lovers of a more rustic style. The Hotel has 54 rooms, apartments and double rooms.
With a unique atmosphere created by the local park gently changing into a Modrzewina nature reserve, a perfect surrounding to give respite from everyday business life during this retreat.

Before we start our spiritual journey, we will have an informal meeting to catch-up with each other on Thursday starting at 17.00h. This is the start of the retreat. On Thursday evening we will have an introduction to the theme and to the retreat itself. Afterwards we will close the day with a nice dinner with friends. Friday and Saturday morning, we will dig deeper and try to understand God’s voice for our life. Saturday afternoon and evening our Polish friends will offer us a program that will give us an insight into their spiritual and business life, as well as in their culture. Sunday we will wrap up and prepare for departure after our morning session and celebrating the Lord’s supper. Departure time is at noon.
