Extra ordinary Hope

“A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the "why" for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any "how".”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

Today many people only live for themselves, as the biggest there is.
I see it in the West. Where people need to feel good, happy, elated and thrilled. Everything that is less than this personal feel good experience, is troublesome. The biggest challenge in life is to avoid trouble, dark thoughts, problems, suffering, adversaries and feel happy and elated about yourself.
In Central and Eastern Europe, I see this in people leaving their nations and travelling to the West or somewhere else to become happy and have a future. Due to the troubles and the loss of perspective in their own nation. I understand this feeling. (I had an uncle leaving the Netherlands together with many others, after World War II, because they lost their hope for a good and new future in Europe.)
But the challenge for everyone is to find meaning in something, that is bigger than themselves or achieved results. It is about a meaning, which is internalized, which is within you as your main driver. A meaning related to a way of living. For example, living a life of love as a goal, and not as a tool. In this way meaning is the secret to a content, hopeful and purposeful life. This is bigger than me, myself and I, which always will end in emptiness, dead and unfulfillment. This bigger picture, this reason for existence drives us, where circumstances are bad, where suffering is awful and overwhelming, where people speak against us and ridicule us.

My question for you, what is your driver? Where do you live for? Because this defines if people stay in their nation, where there seems no hope. This defines if you can deal with bad conditions, people who are speaking against you and still can be happy and have inner peace.

Jesus was driven by love and loving relationships. The idea of being united with men in a loving relationship, made Him deal with adversities, suffering, mocking and hardship.
Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame. (Hebrews 12:2)
Just because of Him, this is not just wisdom or a thought to deal with life, but an extraordinary hope. In Jesus this is rooted in something what happened, a victory and a certain future, that is guaranteed by his presence and life nowadays, as sitting at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus is given all full authority in heaven and on earth. He will endow you with his Spirit, so you can live this life of Him as well. Living for and out of love, justice and mercy, despite the circumstances, the price, rejections and adversities. In personal life, politics and business, because you believe in something.

This is my prayer for you and myself.
